What's on my mind?
In an effort to keep myself accountable and avoid the same pitfalls, I decided to make some changes to the blog. One of the things I get stuck on is coming up with titles. Particularly, titles that are pertinent to the topic at hand. Either I couldn't write because I hadn't landed on a title, or I couldn't figure out a title that paired well with what I wrote. So to remedy this, I decided to simplify every title as a post and its corresponding number.
Another thing that I'd get stuck on is adhering to longer blog posts. This self-imposed idea of needing at least four paragraphs of decent length to make it "worthy" of posting. I think part of my thinking was that social media is for short-form, and traditional blogging is for long-form. But that's on a case-by-case basis, and there are no real rules to this. I've seen plenty of posts on social media use every bit of that character limit and beyond. Ever seen a status update or tweet turn into a short novel?
In the past, I've refrained from writing because I only needed a few sentences or barely needed a paragraph. So going forward, my posts are going to be as long or as short as I want them to be. The goal is to write and that's what I need to do.
